  1. The townland of Ashgrove is in the barony of Garry-Castle. It is about a quarter of a mile from the Lusmagh River. The land is fertile. It consists of nine houses and these nine houses are neatly thatched and whitewashed. The houses consist of one bedroom, a parlour, and a kitchen.
Before the famine there were about fourteen houses. But now they are in ruins. The oldest person is Mrs. MacCormac she is eighty eight years of age.
