  1. In olden times the people had three meals each day. For the breakfast they had porridge and milk and a little oaten cake. They had potatoes milk and salt for the dinner and other times they had turnips and cabbage. They had a little oaten cake for the supper. The people drank out of a vessel shaped like a saucepan only it is made of wood.
