  1. The robin is a wild bird to be found in our district. The robin builds her nest with wool and feather and hay. She lays four or five eggs.
    They are blue and small. The robin sits on the eggs for three weeks. Boys who rob birds nest will be arrested by Garda and brought to Industrial School. In the frosty weather the birds come around the doors looking for crumbs especially the robin.
