  1. The time the Danes invaded this country some of them lived in Srah Castle and more of them lived in ballcowan. The ruin of both castles are still to be seen. They had underground passages or tunnels, from one Castle to another. This is about three miles for communicating with each other and which still can be seen and from Ballaycowan to the Moat of Lynally. It is all tunnelled as a stone when dropped down it is heard going down for two minutes. It stilled believed
