  1. There are two forges in the parish. The smiths are Pat Grace and Pat O Rourke. I hear my father say they have been smiths for a great many years. One of the forges is situated at a cross-road. The other one is about one hundred yards from a cross-road. There is a stream beside it. There is a slated roof on the forge. There is one fire-place in it. There is an anvil in it. There are many horse-shoes on the floor. There are bellows in the forge. It is made from canvas and lahs. It is for blowing the fire The smith uses (a) many implements. He uses a hammer for many things such as driving nails. He use"s a lot of nails. He uses a chisel. He uses a file, and a rasp, for paring the horses
