There was a man coming home one night from Park by the name of Jim Shannon.

There was a man coming home one night from Park by the name of Jim Shannon. It was fairly late and it was also very dark. When he was passing by this kiln he saw a man dressed in white. The man was very much afraid and he got in over the ditch, and he ran through the field as fast as he could and when he came to the next ditch he looked around him and saw a white man in the middle of the field.
Jim got a sod off the ditch and threw it at him and then he ran his best through the field towards home and he did not see him any more that night. Jim was coming the same way the next night and he saw the white man again. He got in over the ditch and ran as fast as he could and he did not see him any more that night.
It was believed that it was a man in one of the neighbouring houses used to dress himself in a white sheet and used to go to hide in this kiln to frighten Jim.
