    that his time was up. Jack asked the devil would he have a drink and the devil said he would. Jack went into another room and put a sleeping drug into the devil's drink. After some time the devil went to sleep.
    Then Jack tied him to an iron gate and got a saw and began to saw the horns off him. When the devil wakened he began to shout "Let me go, let me go, |I will not bother you any more. Jack untied the devil and as soon as he did, the devil disappeared.
    When Jack died he went down to hell but the devil would not let him in, and Jack said, "Will you give me a light, I am not able to get back to the earth in the dark. The devil gave him a lantern.
