    first they were driven over from Wales by a storm and landed in Wexford - invaders like the Danes and Normans.
    Superstitions have grown up about them which are embodied in the following rhyme; -
    "One for sorrow,
    Two for mirth,
    Three for a wedding
    Four for a birth
    Five for silver
    Six for gold
    Seven for a tale never told."
    The robin makes its nest in a hedge. If anyone robs a bird's nest, it is said that his own home will be robbed.
