  1. Crosses Well is called by that name because of people who lived neat it named Crosses. The Ring is a small patch of land pailed in the shape of a ring. Criosmáirtin gets its name because people named Martin lived near it and it was called Martin's Cross. The pea-field is so called because the old people at home long ago used sow peas in it. The Car-road field gets its name because there is a car-road leading through it on to the main road and is on our farm.
    The Stripe gets its name because it is a long narrow field. Nolan's Kiln gets its name because people named Nolan owned it long ago. The Rocky Lane gets its name because there is not much surface on it and the rocks are to be seen.
