There are a lot of potatoes grown on Aughnashannagh. People help each other at the digging of the potatoes. We set about two acres of potatoes every year. Some years they are good and some years they are bad.
First of all the ground is ploughed into ridges, then manure is put on them and the potatoes are put in. Then they are shovelled.
Sometimes we put artificial manure on them. Artificial manure is used mostly on bad land.
