    In this locality that is in the districts around Killasonna, Rinroe and Rincoola, certain people particularly those of the older generation would not allow the smoke to be put up first in their house on May morning. That is they would not allow a fire to be put down in their house till they saw smoke coming out of the chimney of a neighbour's house. They say that the person who "puts up the first smoke" in the town-land on May Morning sends all his "good luck" for the year away with it.
