    A Strong Man
    9th Dec; 1937
About one hundred years ago there lived a very strong man in Granard, Co. Longford. His name was Patrick Monaghan, and he could carry a twenty stone bag of potatoes under his arm. He could hold a race horse in his hand, and run eleven miles in an hour. He could also carry a thirty five stone sack of oats up twenty steps of a ladder.
