    The Local Patron Saint
    25th May, 1938.
    Saint Patrick is the Saint that is traditionally connected with this district of Granard, Co. Longford. He came here in the 5th century, and pointed out with his own finger from the Moat of Granard the site where the Church should be built. The Church was built there, and in later years a new one was erected on the very same spot.
