    There is a fort in John Daltons field Drumming Ardagh Mostrim Parish of Legan Co Longford In olden times the fairies used to take away children to their fort and leave a delicate child instead and the child usually died shortly afterwards To keep on terms with these fairies somepeople used set potatoes around the fort and never dig them They left them for the fairies
