  1. There was once a highway man named Paul Alley. One day there was a coach coming from Dublin. In the coach was a lot of gold. Paul Alley held up the coach on a lonely spot in the road. He cut off the heads off the two men and off the two horses, and got clear away with the gold.
It is said that Paul hanged himself in a field behind St May's Terrace. It is also said that the murdered men still drive the coach over the road on which they were murdered so many years ago.
