    kept busy at the market on Saturdays. They worked out in the open at Main St., the most important street long ago. Boots were very precious eighty or a hundred years ago. The women who could afford them carried them to Mass, sat on the road-side and put them on, and when Mass was over, they took them off and walked home barefoot.
