  1. In olden times the people did not wear boots or shoes until they were twenty years of age.
    Not many children go barefooted all the year round. A lot of Children go barefooted in summer.
    Long ago there was beliefs connected with the water that people washed their fee in but at present there are no beliefs connected with it.
    Children now a days weave sandles with no stockings in summer time.
    Sandles saves children's feet from cut stones and thorns.
    Boots are repaired locally in the district. There are three men that repairs boots and shoes in the districts.
    Long ago it was a tradition in their families. The names of the men are James Jessop, Joseph Brennan and Patrick Doonan.
    Leather was never made in the district
