    the ground and harrow it to break all the lumps of clay. Then drills are opened with a plough and manure is spread in them. Next the seed is cut into scalps. Each potato is cut into two or three pieces leaving an eye or two in each piece. Then they are dropped between the drills a foot away from each other. Then the drills are closed with the plough. when they begin to grow you second mould them with a plough. After a few weeks you spray them to keep the blight off them. You let them grow till the stalks wither off them, then you dig them out with a spade. Ploughs are used when you have a lot of tillage to do. I never remember wooden ploughs being used. There are no wooden ploughs left and the spades are bought in a shop. During the summer months we weed them regularly. When Autumn comes we dig
