  2. Old Schools
    There was a hedge school at Mabestown. It was call Mabestown school. The school was in Mangan's field. The school was in an old shed and the teacher lived in a house near by. The teachers name was Master J Lynam. The teacher was a stranger. School was not carried on in farmers' houses. The children used to bring him a penny each
