    There was a hedge school in this district one time. It was in a house in a field in Moylroe. The name of the man that owns the field that it is in is Robert Smyth. The name of the man that taught in it was master White he was not a stranger his father was from Moylroe. The pupils used to bring sixpence a week to pay him. He taught english. They wrote with pencils on slates. The subjects that were taught in it were Writing and Reading.
