  1. In my locality there are many forts. One of the largest of them being situated on the Mullingar road in Joe Fagan's land. It is very large with three entrances. From the top of it you can see the fort on the hill of Gillardstown, the village of Collinstown, and all Barbavilla. It is forty five yards from one bank straight" through the middle of the fort to the opposite side. People say that great warriors lived there long ago, and many battles were fought there.
