- (1). Get some "Butcher's Broom" (herb) which grows somewhat like "whins" or gorse but without thorns. Boil it with new milk and drink the syrup three times a day.
- (2). To swallow a live frog is said to be a cure for consumption.
- Get some garlic, chop it up very fine, and stew it slowly for hours in water. When cold bottle it, and drink some of it whenever an attack of coughing comes on.
