- The old R.C Church was situated in the ash grove, that was at the back of the tennis courts. The entrance to it was the present entrance in Wallace’s coal yard. A few old people remember having heard holy mass there. They are old Bawthy or Balthy Smith also known as Tom the Bawthy, Maurice Swift and Tom Fields. All these are deceased R.I.P.
The present Catholic Church was built at the beginning of the nineteenth century. - You are not logged in, but you are welcome to contribute a transcription anonymously.
