  2. In the time of Catholic Emancipation when the penal laws were in force no young man could be educated to be a doctor. For that reason the people had t find their own remedies for their ailments. Here are some of their cures:-
    1. The mumps could be cured by getting up for three mornings and going down to the pig sty before getting
