    on the ledge to dry. They took the cross cut by Mooney's Rath and when passing, God bless the bearers, there came a foul blast the nearly took them off their feet but anyway it blew the linen cap off one of the heads and of course they looked and looked everywhere but the cap couldn't be got up or down. The eldest girl called to the other two "Come on you gawks, the men's stomachs will think their throats are cut watchin' for their bit to ale. In any case the fairies took it and we'll get it this evening." Coming home that evening there was the cap hanging on a thraneen. The girl took it home with her and one of them said "Maybe we have a right to leave it where it was." Well the three went into the kitchen and the one that lost the cap got in 'beyant' her old father in the corner and says she "Father I'm shivering all over me." The other two were just going out to milk when they caught what she said. Back they came & peeped in at her and she shaking from head to foot and she looked 'quare' looking.
