  1. St. Patrick's day falls on the 17th of March. It is a holiday of obligation. Long ago it used to be a big business day for all the shops. The country people always used to come out to city or town and do their shopping, but, it is changed now there is no business done on St. Patrick's Day. It is honoured as a great feastday. All the Irish people wear a piece of shamrock. The children wear ribbons on their heads.
