You can walk round from the bottom to the the top like a corkscrew.
There are twelve or thirteen bushes around it and one ash tree to the east side.
There is also a good well along side it, neve know to dry up.
You can see Collon from Bell's hill and that is about ten miles away.
In Butterlys moat my mother heard churning. Lights were seen in it and there is supposed to be fairies. - There is a moat near hear and it was covered with furze. In days gone by a farmer, the owner of the moat, cut away all the furze and soon afterwards the poor man's sight failed away and the blame was left on the fairies.
O Reilly's Moast is about 100 feet high over the sea level.
