    pencil and quill for writing with ink which they made themselves from certain leaves and horse chest nut seeds.Dance was taught in school as well as other subjects.This teacher was very strict and instead of getting slapped the scholar would do his best to be let off and that would mean a row between the two of them.However Mr.Petegog was much respected by scholars and neighbours.After two or three years in this little hut he either went himself or was ordered to go to Derry more -a ploughland near the village of Inagh.Much is not known of him with the people around ,since he taught .
    There was another one of these schools where the old Chapel of Cloona was before the new one was erected. Mr Curtin was the name of the teacher who taught there and he was supposed to be the cleverest of his time.Many of the old men and old women in Cullinagh received their education from Mr.Curtin and they say that he was one of the finest that ever taught and he had some very clever scholars.Mostly all Irish this teacher taught and he was well respected by every one at that time.Every Monday morning the scholars used to bring
