    Once upon a time there were three men in this parish...

    to pass a very lonesome part of the road in which it was supposed
    a man was killed hundreds of years before .
    One night as they were coming home rather late and just as they were passing the part of the road they saw a man standing
    under a white -thorn bush on the side of the road.
    he looked to be of monster proportions and he was dressed in a fashion such as they had never seen before.They were frightened out of their wits and hardly able to walk home.
    However they went to the same house the following night,as they were returning home again they saw the same ghostly figure standing in the same spot.This time one of them fainted and had to be carried home to bed where he remained for a week.
