    A cousin of mine (Eileen Hannigan) was drowned at the age of three in the Colligan River near Dungarvan. Her own grandmother composed the following Caoine in the connection. She was found by a boy who was fishing. His hook stuck in her, and he thought it was a salmon. James Wall was the name of the boy who found her:-

    "A Shéamuis de Bhal, grádh mo chroidhe thú
    Is tú thug ar phort na h-abhann
    An breac gan cuimhneamh
    Ní breac fairre ná breac abhainn ach breac tíre
    Eibhlín na bacaille báine nár ghádh a cíoradh
    Eibhlín óg! Agus is óg a bhí tú. Eibhlín óg is gleó mo chroidhe thú.
