  1. The people in this locality in olden days made their own tread on the spinning. There were several old people in every district who had spinning wheels and the people used to bring the wool to them to spin and make stockings. First the sheep were shorn and the wool washed and dried. Then it was drawn and spun in the spinning wheel. After the wool had been spun it was white as the people dyed it and made stockings out of it. Flax seed was often spun on the spinning. It was cut in September and threshed with the flail. Then it was steeped in pond's till it became white. It was left to dry and then it was draun and the wool was made from it.
