Mr James Wall of Bansha told me about the following people whom he knew about 50 years.

Mr. James Wall of Bansha told me about the following people whom he knew about 50 yrs ago. There was a man named Tobin of Ballylooby, Cahir and another man named J. Mitchel of Emly, and these were the greatest weight-throwers in Co. Tipperary at that time.
There was a man named John Culnane living in Bansha who lifted 30 stone of grain.
Thomas Kennedy, Rathdermot, Bansha, lifted 25 stone of potatoes off the ground into a car.
Michael Power, Kilshane, tied 1/2 cwt on his little finger and wrote his name with a slate on the wall opposite him.
Ned Paorac, Bansha threw a stone 200 yds.
