  1. Old Houses
    The houses were thatched with straw. They drew the straw in bundles and put it on the roof of the house. They used to take up the straw a bundle and put it on the roof of the house. Then they would put small timber scallops down through the bundle and when they had a good many bundles up they used to put scallops across the top of the house.
    When making the walls, they used to mix yellow clay with water and a foundation about three and a half feet deep and they used to put big
