   A Franciscan Monastery must also have existed in the town for its dissolution is mentioned in the State Papers. Where it stood is not clear. Some writers say it was on the suburbs of the town and was built by the O'Meaghers or Bulters in the 14th century. Others say its site was near the present castle at the Suir bridge. Goose would seem to place it in Mr Scully's yard in Cathedral St. The last Abbot of the place - a Maurice O'Feely or Foley refused to surrender it and was in the reign of Queen Mary taken prisoner to Dublin where he suffered a long confinement. It has been also stated that
