   A family named Walshe who lived in Brownstown about 10 years ago knew of the treasure hidden under the big stone in the "Green" in front of the Abbey. One night they dug for it but after an hours hard digging they were driven away by headless horse from whose neck fire blazed.

   Once upon a time a poor old widow had a very small son called Shawneen. He never grew up. She sent him out one day for the cows. It began to rain and he went in under a dock-leaf. A cow ate the dock-leaf and Shawnee with it. He began to cry "how how" and so drove the cows hom. He told his mother where he was
