Meat was eaten sometimes salted meat was generally used sometimes fish was used and vegetables were used often. On St Brigid's night and November night pancakes were baked and apples were also eaten on November night. On St Martin's Night a goose was eaten. On Easter Sunday the people would eat plenty of eggs. The people used never eat late at night. Tea was first used in the district about a hundred years ago. Tin and wooden saucepans called peggins were used before cups became common.
