Potatoes are picked usually by young people - the diggers continuing their work for the whole day. There is only one method of picking - a simple one - the
“ pickers “ taking buckets and beginning where the diggers began bend their backs and with both hands pick the larger tubers into the bucket or other vessel until the latter is full.
The potatoes here are always stored in pits on the plot from which they are raised. The pit may be twenty feet long ( sometimes more )
A light covering of rushes is placed on the potatoes and the pit is covered with clay to a depth(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
