  1. There are a few local happenings in my district. "Drowning" Mr Walsh, Ballyvoreen, Murroe. It is said that he was noticed washing his feet in the river where he was drowned. He was over seventy years when he was drowned. "House burning" Mr McCoy's house, Mongfune, Murroe, was burned by the Republicans in the year 1921, because the Black and Tans were coming to live in it.
