    There are many fairy tales told around this district.
    It is said that the fairies or Sídeóga as they are sometimes called live in the moats.
    There are many fairy women also
    and these are said to be heard crying mournfully when anyone is dead.
    Long ago the people called the fairies "na daoine maite".
    Once a man was coming home late at night drunk, and he laid down on the roadside near a moat which was occupied by the fairies.
    After a time he heard the fairies singing and dancing around the moat.
    They asked the man to join them in the dancing but he refused and went home as fast as he could and when he reached home there was froth coming from his mouth and he was in bed for six
