  1. Local Marriage Customs.
    In former times about one hundred and twenty years ago a certain crowd of people used to go around the country match-making.
    They used to go to some places on certain times and other places on other times, because people in this country do not marry the same month every year.
    When they used to come around here in this district they used to remain around here for a few days.
    It is said that is is lucky to marry between these two periods;- from little Christmas day to Shrove Tuesday. These days are picked out as unlucky for marrying, every Monday during the year and also in the month of May. It is also said that no-one should get married during the harvest time.
    Dowry means that if a son got married and if that sone had other brothers that did not mean that the rest of his brothers
