  1. Fairy Forts. 8-7-1938
There are many fairy forts in this district and they are circular in shape.
There is one in Glenameade, another in Ballinahalee, another in Ballyrune,
another in Ballyvareen, and there is another in Ballyculhane.
In the townland of Ballycasey in the parish of Kildimo, there is a tunnel there, and it is supposed to have been there since the time of the Danes, and it is going from one Castle to another underground, across the main road, and it is called the Cathair.
In Ballyrune fort there is a high fence of earth enclosing the fort and there are many trees growing on the bank.
Once upon a time a man cut a tree there for firewood and he got a pick of a thorn and died soon after. In the same fort there is a large stone in the centre and there is some writing on it.
