    The potatoes in this district are Golden wonders, early variety, Flounders, Epicures, Arran victors, Arran banners, Shamrocks, Irish chieftain, Kerrs pink, May Queen, British queen, Irish queen and Champions.
    The most productive are B queens, Kerrspink, Shamrock and Arran banners.
    Starch was made from potatoes in this way. The potatoes ere washed, peeled and grated into a basin of cold water. this water was let off and fresh clean water poured on them. the contents were strained through a piece of muslin. The residue placed in a bowl and boiling water poured on it to make
