  1. Herbs.
The herbs growing in the farm are the nettles, dockleaves, thistles, dandelion, chicken weed, crowsfoot, grounsel and the buachalan buidhe. There is also a herb growing called the pruiseach weed, which spreads and is very harmful to the crops. Thistles are the only weeds that grow only in good land. All the other weeds grow in poor land. The dockleaf is very good to cure a burn from a nettle, by wetting the dockleaf and laying it over it. Nettles are cut up and given to fowl and dandelion is given to young turkeys. If dandelion leaves are put steeping in sour milk and the product drank, it is good for bloodless people.
