    There is only two forges in my parish and James Guiry and Michael Dwyer are the smiths but their people before them were bit smiths.

    He has a large bellows and a trough of water to cool the newly banded wheels at the east end of the forge. The following are the implements the smith uses, a sledge, 3 hammers, a tongs, pincers, rasp, stand, the doggs, and the vice.
