    Landlords.
    Mr. O'Brien was the local landlord. Both he and his descendants had been settled in the district for over a century. They were looked upon as bad landlords. Evictions have been carried out in my district. Sometimes the people who were evicted fixed their affairs, and they were let back again, and others went to foreign countries.
    The landlords were the best soldiers Cromwell had, and when he was going to England, he left them to rule over certain districts.
    The land was divided into farms under his guidance, and also where there was a big farm, the father had to divide it amongst his family on marriage. So that each one would only have a small portion. The landlord did
