    Landlords.
    Mr. Ferguson was landlord of my district. His ancestors had been landlords for a generation or so.
    Samuel Upton was an agent to him, and he had to collect the rent money, and to settle disputes which arose often amongst the tenants.
    Ferguson lived in England, but he had a lodge in Garryduff, about two miles from New Castle West, and he used come there for his summer holidays, and since then it is called Ferguson's village or Ferguson's woods.
    When he used come home for his holidays. He used visit all his tenants, and look at their rent books to see if they were paying, and if Upton was
