    exercise special power over his tenants. If a farmer had a horse, and if it were the landlords wish to buy it, he should sell it to him for very little money. The people were punished for trivial acts. Tithes were collected in my district. They were collected in money. There are no stories about them. People did not resent the collections, because they had to pay it.
