    A local in olden times, named Edward Sheehy, carried a harrow and plough on his back across the field from Cratloe; it was usual for him to reap an acre of meadowing in a day

  2. Local Heroes.
    Shaun Burns, who worked for my grandfather when drawing hay in a wet summer, had the ill-luck to see the horse lodged in a soft gap. He lifted the car with the load of hay so that the wheels were well out of the soft mud and allowed the horse to pass out at his ease.
