- This well is situated in the townland of Gurtnadrina, under a tree south of this school. It is supposed to be one of the three sister wells, the others being in Borrigone and Loughill. There is no saint mentioned in connection with the ? well. The well is especially connected with the eyes, curing of sore eyes, but other cures have been as well, for instance the cure of a sore knee or lame leg. Rounds should be paid after sunset on three consecutive Saturdays, and before sunrise on three consecutive Sundays. One must go round the well seven times, and say each time Our Father. Then it is usual to take three drinks of the water. Sunday's well is supposed to have removed three times, because of certain abuses. On one occasion it is supposed to have removed, because a woman washed clothes at the well. There is a white thorn bush beside the well, and it is customary to hang a rag on the bush before leaving. The well was originally beneath the bush, but it is now about ten yards further down. The dry bed of where the well originally was, is to be seen beside the bush. The well removed for the third time last year, 1933.
