    10-11-38
    During the long winter nights my sisters and I find great past time in making toy dolls. We get cardboard and make the body and feet, then we get wire to join them to the feet.
    Then we at stuff the body with fibre or hair, and we make the head of putty and dough. When it is dry we paint the cheeks, and lips with red paint and put little bits of glass for eyes, and glue on a long piece of hair to the head and comb it out nicely. Then we make pretty dresses and stockings and fancy shoes to put on the doll. Then our doll is a success. We also find great past time in making some chains with flowers which we gather in the fields.
    Often we help our brother in making tops, guns, and snares as he often finds it
